Fair Reflection Protest, How to Alert the Democratic National Party that Fair Reflection Matters.

If we started mailing in small mirrors to the democratic national party, perhaps they will get the message that fair reflection, especially in the caucus state contests, is of utmost importance to those of us who will not vote for Barack Obama because of the cheating that went on in the caucus state contests.

I first heard Harold Ickes use the phrase "Fair Reflection" when he was discussing delegate allocations with Robert Wexler, a Florida Legislator. Wexler stated that since Hillary picked up 19 net delegates from her victories in Pennsylvania and Ohio, she should be grateful for Barack Obama's generosity in letting Hillary Clinton have 19 net delegates from Florida.

Fair Reflection means that wins in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Texas should carry more weight than Barack Obama's victory in the Minnesota Caucus Contest. Barack Obama actually picked up more net delegates from ONE Minnesota Caucus victory than Hillary Clinton picked up by winning in Ohio, Texas, Pennsylvania, MIchigan, Indiana, and Nevada. This is called Unfair Reflection.

If you decide to send a mirror into the DNC as a form of protest, please make sure it has hardened plastic around the entire edge of the mirror so that it doesn't cut anybody, and pack the item safely. We want to make sure the DNC looks at themselves each and every time they open a package with a mirror inside.

Fair Reflection must win out or the democratic party will take a long time to heal from their arrogance in ignoring it.

Fair reflection, of course, matters. I would suggest you associate yourself and your ideas at:

www.blog.pumapac.org

Read about its goals to see if you're interested. It's in its early stages but can use your participation.

Thank you for your tip. Although I don't think the democratic party believes as you do that fair reflection matters, at least not this year.

All I know is that Hillary ran a stellar campaign. She did herself proud. I would like nothing better than for her to be president. I was so angry when things fell apart, but she gave an awesome speech Saturday. She has asked us to work with her to put a democrat in the White House. She didn’t issue a command, she just asked her faithful followers to help. I’d rather vote for Hillary, but I’ll follow her lead, and support Obama.

ha ha, how soon the Obama and McCain supporters swoop in. It ain't over until Denver.

I thought I'd chime in with a different perspective. I'm a military mom; my only son is currently on his second tour in Iraq. His first tour was quite an eye opener. Some of the things he wrote about in his letters horrified me, and when he came back home I begged him to pursue a new avenue so he wouldn't get sent back.

But like many of the heroes serving there today, he told me his country needed him, and he would do all that is asked until they can ask no more. He will be voting this year through an absentee ballot, and he's voting Obama for one simple reason: through his firsthand experience in Iraq, he knows Americans can't afford another President who will wage unneeded wars. Many of his fellow soldiers feel the same. For them, their vote could be the difference between coming home to their families, or fighting for their lives in a country that does not want them nor need them.

I ask you to please reconsider. McCain has already aligned himself closely with the policies of the Bush administration, and he's made it clear that he wants a lengthy US military commitment to Iraq. As tensions in the region rise, I fear that a McCain presidency would not only mean my son will be sent on a third and fourth tour to Iraq, but that we'll also have a very real danger of falling into another unneeded conflict with Iran before his term is over.

Cory, Colleen, your voting choices are your own. I am a formerly loyal Democrat who is protesting this election. At this point, it’s all about principles, fair reflection being one that I thought was important to the Democratic Party. That principle was stomped on in the DNC’s stampede to select their nominee. You will note that I said select and not elect. Election used to be something voters did to choose a nominee. We voted and they ignored and instead, selected the candidate who gamed the system. And it’s not about fairness to Senator Clinton. It’s about respecting her voters. Every time they slapped her, many of us felt it. And now the New Democratic Party wants unity. Well, each of us 18 million Clinton voters has the right (I think) to make that choice. I cannot vote for McCain and I will not vote for Obama. And Colleen, his utter lack of passion for the issues leads me to believe that anything can happen if he is elected President. I still have no idea of what his core values are. So I must cast my protest vote by writing-in Hillary Clinton's name. My husband, formerly a staunch Democrat, will simply stay home on election day. Will our actions make it more likely that McCain will win? I don’t know. I have only one vote, but I also have principles, which the New Democratic Party have abandoned. I am a principled Puma Democrat. I have added my letter to the DNC under 1000 Reasons Democrats are Protesting the 2008 Presidential Election at blog.pumapac.org. I forgot to specifically mention the fair reflection element of the DNC Rules Committee debacle in my letter and that’s why I posted here in the first place.

I think that Hillary would not be as hawkish as John McCain probably will be. When I factor in the power grab that George Soros. Arianna Huffington, Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann will gain, the long term net affect will be worse if Obama becomes president, this time around. If Obama were to realign and become Hillary's VP this time around, he probably will be a great president down the road.

I think Hillary is the optimal choice on an all emcompassing level, that is why I'm still fighting for her.

I would wager a guess that there are at least 18 million people (and these are just primary voters) who agree that Sen Clinton is by far the superior candidate to face McCain in the GE. Some of us also believe that she would be a great President and that Sen Obama is an "empty suit" candidate and is not ready to be Leader of the Free World. If given the power of the presidency, there's no telling how badly he could screw up. But I don't think he would win anyway, unless he winds up asking Sen Clinton to share the ticket as VP. The real problem right now is the process. It appears that the Democratic Party has been hijacked. How do we get it back? I'm so angry with the Obama Cabal that has made this election all about HIM rather than the American people. His "Yes, we can" clearly means "Yes, we can get me into the White House" and nothing more. Sen Clinton knows what she wants to do and how to try to do it. She knows the issues and policies inside and out. Sen Obama has shown that he needs a teleprompter or a memorized speech (often not even his own)in order to communicate without "ers" and "uhs." Sure, he can sometimes put together a complete sentence without stammering, which is a great improvement over GWB, but talk about a low bar to cross. So what are the Party honchos thinking? That the Dem base will hold their nose again? No, not this time. Not when we had/have a great candidate like Sen Clinton who WOULD win in the fall.

I read this today and found it a little disturbing.

From JohnMcCain.com:

Human Dignity and the Sanctity of Life

Overturning Roe v. Wade

John McCain believes Roe v. Wade is a flawed decision that must be overturned, and as president he will nominate judges who understand that courts should not be in the business of legislating from the bench.

Constitutional balance would be restored by the reversal of Roe v. Wade, returning the abortion question to the individual states. The difficult issue of abortion should not be decided by judicial fiat.

However, the reversal of Roe v. Wade represents only one step in the long path toward ending abortion....

A.M., first I just want to let you know that the post above by Colleen is a hoax Obamabot post that is being posted on all the Hillary blogs. No Quarter had an article about it the other day. It's just more Obamabot sleazy techniques. They are now infiltrating all the blogs trying to make it look like they are ex Hillary supporters who are supposedly following Hillary's lead.

Quite frankly, Hillary said what she had to say to be able to continue to work within the Democratic Party. But she definitely didn't say any more than she had to say. Go back and read her speech and it is pretty obvious that she was laying out why she is, and will always be, the only real democrat in the contest.

There is a war against Hillary going on within the party that is pretty easy to recognize when you examine what Dean/et al are doing. Never in the history of this country has a candidate been expected to give up her delegates before the convention - particularly not when a contest was this close.

Your post on Fair Reflection is right on point. The delegate apportionment that went on this cycle was blatantly set up to benefit Obama and hurt Hillary. What is unfortunate is that this is not being reported in the news. Most people don't know this. I would suspect that if every one of her 18 million supporters were aware of the fraud this election has been, there would be riots at the convention that would make 1968 look like one of Obama's tea parties (and I'm not talking about what happened in Boston).

cognitivedissonance, I agree with you 100%. Not only is Colleen a bot, I believe Cory is too. Multiple identical comments on the same blog are a good clue.

I am very displeased with how the DNC has acted, and I am even more displeased with the Obama campaign. The Obama campaign didn't have to accept the 55 Uncommitted Delegates (later halved) in MI; they didn't have to accept the 4 of Mrs. Clinton's delegates (later halved), either!

Yet they did, to their eternal shame.

How the DNC has behaved is scandalous. Atrocious. Disgusting. Reprehensible.

Why should they push out the candidate who will in the fall -- Hillary R. Clinton -- to benefit a relative newcomer who can't win on his own without the game being rigged?

This isn't "fair reflection" at all, what's happened; the caucuses were rigged for Obama (most especially in Texas with the 2000 complaints no one's doing anything about, some of 'em by police officers), and the DNC just doesn't care because they don't want Mrs. Clinton and they do want Obama for whatever reason.

Well, just because the DNC is as dumb as a box of rocks doesn't mean I have to be. I've left the Democratic Party after 24 years -- it was hard, but I did it -- and am now an Indepedent. I will never, never, never vote for Obama; it is a matter of principle and while I also cannot support John McCain because I disagree with his policies, I at least find him ethical.

So we have a bad choice unless Mrs. Clinton either gets the Dems on her side or tells them all to stick it and runs as an Independent herself between the unethical guy with better policies, Obama, and the ethical guy with worse policies, McCain.

Business as usual.

How could the DNC screw up this bad?

At any rate, I am glad you have this website up and I hope you get a lot of positive comments. Ignore the Obama-bots. (There are a _few_ people who have said, "Hillary said to vote for Obama, so I will" in my acquaintance. But it's less than 10%. In other words, most of us who are angry are staying angry -- and the polls won't pick it up because the statistical sample is too small in a poll to register our outrage.)

Anonymous said...

Of course, I then mis-spelled "Independent" in my haste, but other than that, I stand by what I said.

I re-iterate -- just because the DNC is stupid doesn't mean I have to be, and I refuse to support a candidate who has "won" through dubious means.

I am a soldier's mom - a female soldier. She has already spent one tour in Iraq and will probably go back for more in the next few momnths. I have supported Hillary and will continue to contribute to her campaign debt. I will continue to write letters, blog and do whatever I can for Senator Clinton. She is the clear choice of the three candidates. My soldier daughter originally liked Obama (she's young). She asked me why I didn't like him, I told her and she switched to Hillary. However, unfortunately, no amount of persuading can get her to vote for McCain if Obama is the selected nominee. I am going to keep trying, but I think she will either stay home or vote for Nader in November.

The Dems cheated Hillary of the nomination. I love the idea of the mirrors. Why don't we just innundate them with virtual mirrors? Just get one from clip art and e-mail it to them. Send them to this address:
